The game

Questions
- What is Rooftop Run?
- A small browser game: sneak across moonlit rooftops, keep out of the searchlights and collect 10 paper lanterns. Each lantern unlocks a night song by Purrple Cat, and the music keeps playing while you browse the site.
- How do I play?
- On a keyboard: ← → (or A D) to move, ↑, W or Space to jump, ↓ or S to hide behind a chimney, and P or Esc to pause. On a phone or tablet, use the on-screen buttons. If a searchlight catches you or you fall, you go back to your last lantern.
- Can I skip the game and just listen?
- Yes. Press “Just listen” and the whole lantern scroll opens and plays all 10 songs in order. Your game progress isn’t touched, so you can still collect the lanterns later.
- What is lofi ninja music?
- Lofi for sneaking around at night: soft drums, dark keys and a lot of space. The songs here come from Purrple Cat’s night albums: City Nights, Night Train, Cypress Manor and more.
- Can I use the songs in my videos or streams?
- Yes. Every song is a Purrple Cat Self Release, free under CC BY 4.0 on social media and livestreams with the credit “Music by Purrple Cat”. Never re-upload the songs to music streaming services, and never register them in Content ID. Purrple Cat Self Releases are never in Content ID.
- Is my progress saved?
- Your lanterns are saved in your browser’s local storage on this device. There are no accounts, and nothing is sent anywhere.
- Who makes the music?
